About Ward School of Dance in Spruce Grove

We are celebrating over 50 years in business!

Dancers can begin as early as infancy in our Intellidance Babies program, or get their groove on as an adult in our Adult Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz or Musical Theater classes.

We offer classes in:

• Intellidance

• Acrobatic Arts

• Ballet, Contemporary

• Dance Conditioning

• Hip Hop

• Jazz

• Lyrical

• Musical Theater

• Tap

Many disciplines are offered on both a full year and sessional basis. 

Our preschool classes are designed to engage little movers and focus on the major developmental movement patterns necessary in later years. These classes include:

• Tap/Ballet

• Tap/Jazz

• Ballet/Acrobatic Arts

• Jazz/Hip Hop

Our mission statement recognizes students as people first, and dancers second. This means that whether we train with your dancer 45 minutes a week or 20 hours a week, they will receive the BEST dance education possible in that time. Our highly qualified staff participate in professional development throughout the year, reviewing and designing curriculum to ensure consistency and maximize growth in our students' abilities. To this end, our students receive a report card at the end of every semester which is used for goal setting, continued education and future class placements. This allows us to offer both recreational & professional level training without the need for labels, as well as, decrease the number of classes students are required to take. 

Our studio offers four air-conditioned classroom with sprung hardwood flooring, Marley flooring in two of the rooms, a private dressing room, water fountain and vending machine for our dancers.

We know how busy you are as parents and so we have several forms of communication accessible from your mobile device:

• The Ward School of Dance App which keeps track of any important events including location & costume requirements, notifications from staff members and even music to practice at home!

• Monthly Newsletters detailing important upcoming events, reminders and holidays!

And just to be sure you are getting the info that you need, we have a television which plays the reminders and upcoming events for the month, a communication bulletin board, ample seating to sit and chat with other parents during classes, and most importantly, our desk staff whom are always ready to answer all of your questions.

Our staff members welcome your input and questions. Classroom doors are often left open and parents are invited for parent viewing once during the regular season. 

We put on two great performances: Ward's Winter Wonderland in January & Show Stoppers in June. Ward's Winter Wonderland  offers an adorable first peek at the hard work of our preschool and beginning dancers, with a splash of advanced dancers to increase the variety of performances, while Show Stoppers is a professional-level production celebrating the growth in our dancers and giving them a truly unique and memorable experience.
