Kirsten McOuat & Kirsten Williams purchased the studio in 2012 from the Ward family. As they had both begun their dance careers at the studio, this was a dream come true for both parties.  Each year, awards are handed out at our year-end recital "Show Stoppers" to celebrate the legacy of the hard work of Mrs. Joan Ward and Joan Lineau

Joan Ward Award

This is awarded to a student who demonstrates dedication to their craft. They have, or are beginning to develop, excellent technique and stand out in their classes by doing so. They consistently know their dances, are able to pick up quickly and are role models for others in their classes. Their potential and growth as dancers have drawn the attention of adjudicators and general audience members as well as their own instructors. Because of this, they are inspirations to their classmates and beginning dancers.

The recipient of this award will be given a $500.00 scholarship to Ward School of Dance for the upcoming dance season.
